Smoking: Fashionable or Filthy?

When any actors or actresses lit up the cigarette, many viewers consider it as a kind of fashion. Smokers consider smoking to be an ignition for good feeling. Many young men and women in colleges are crazy about smoking. I've seen with my own eyes boys and girls lighting up the cigarettes and trying to inhale it. Why are they doing this? Because it is considered fashionable. Everyone have their own individuality and they are entitled to do what they want. But the sad thing about this is- they are not really bothered about the hazards of smoking. It is not a fashion. it is just plain filthy,

I was walking down the road on my way to college and I happened to come across a guy who turns out that he was from the same college. As we walk on, we discussed about the college life and our studies. Suddenly he took out a pack of cigarette from his pocket, too one for himself and offered me one. I politely told him that I don't smoke. "WHY?" came the response from him. I can clearly remember his words saying "You should enjoy life dude. You never know when this world is gonna end." I was flabbergasted by what he said. But I am no preacher myself. I told him plainly that I am not at all interested in smoking because its something which doesn't appeal me. I held myself back from saying what smoking causes and how hazardous it it to our health. You cannot just start blurting out that one should not smoke and what one should do and what one should not do. I respect every individual and respect for who they are. But it pains me to see people falling following aimlessly the false practices which are perpetuated by significant figures such as actors or actresses. 

Most people, even non-smokers have a favourite smoking moments in movies. An actor lighting up his cigarette on a cold windy night or sitting at the deck of the ship smoking are some of the highlights in films. Young audiences are the main victims of this unhealthy eulogization. Of course warnings are now displayed on screens whenever any TV personalities smoke. But it still is lacking behind. 

Isn't it ridiculous to see that smoking is considered as something cool in the world of fashion. When i was a kid I love looking at smokers inhaling smokes inside exhaling it through their nostrils like Dracula scenting garlic or making different circles as they puffed it out. I'm sure there will be thousands of kids doing the same; admiring the hazardous fashion. 
 
Smoking causes cancer. It also affects the family life. Recent studies have indicated that the incidence of media images have risen at a rapid pace. Many tobacco industries are always on the their heels encouraging the medias and fashion world to popularize smoking. There are thousands of people who can't afford to support their families but still manage to buy a pack of cigarette. Smoking will always be cool on papers and in cinemas.

Being cool is an essential feature for teenagers of today and is integral to the image they present to their peers. They are always on the lookout to search for an answer to be cool. What they are supposed to do in order to look cool without actually trying to be cool? The art of being cool involves looking cool without trying to look cool. The way smoking is represented in the world of fashion thus becomes an answer to be cool. The teenagers are easily influenced by the fashion world that smoking is indeed cool. 

Smoking is not fashionable. It is a dangerous habit not just for the smokers but the people around them. They are poisonous and should be avoided at all cost. It is a waste of money and a total hazards to health.

Feminism is the belief and aim that women should have the same rights and opportunities as men. Feminism at its commencement by popular definition was to acquire the right to vote for women.
