Delhi needs the old Arvind Kejriwal back
Ever felt like something is missing in Arvind Kejriwal the Chief Minister of Delhi? Well he certainly seems to look so. The hunger and the thirst to serve for the common people's cause and uproot corruptions were his key agendas before he enter into the array of politics. The sheer determination and do or die attitude seem to have withered like a flower.
Born on 16th August, 1968 no one would have expected this man to lead Delhi with such strong majority. He is the seventh current chief minister of Delhi after they won the election with a resounding victory by defying all odds.
In 2012, he launched the Aam Aadma Party and defeated Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit in the 2013 Delhi Assembly Election. His enthusiasm and passion to fight for the common was just breath-taking. In fact it was Arvind Kejriwal who somehow made me take some interest in politics. I started following his press conferences as he kicked of his campaign pointing out the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders notably Nitin Gadkari. Everything was on the right track.
His resignation from the post of the Chief Minister came as a huge shock for me. Well it turns out he was aiming for a bigger fish - the Lo Sabha election which turned out to be a disaster for them.
Then came his U-turn as people often termed it. He re-united his party and bang - got 67 seats knocking out Kiran Bedi and his party in Delhi. All the tall promises made by Arvind Kejriwal and his party seem to be forgotten. Free WiFi, implementations of new schools and colleges are not fulfilled till now. In fact Delhi the capital of India seems to be rotting and becoming a laughing stock to the other countries. Pile of garbages everywhere. Who is responsible? Well everyone who is responsible.
Delhi needs the old Arvind Kejriwal back to save the capital of India. He is much better than this and people want to see his old self. If his policy of blame-game continues and fails to fulfill the promises he made before the election, I'm not sure for how long he will last as a reputed and respected politician.
Of course its all down to the people. Anyone can vote for anybody and Arvind Kejriwal can mislead people on many occasions. But i'm not sure for how long he can mislead the people. Kejriwal is an admirable man. I like him for his qualities and his desire to fight for the common people.
It will be great to see the old enthusiastic and passionate Arvind Kejriwal. People like him without a doubt. He has been a revelation for thousands of people. But it is worth pointing out that he has changed drastically. If he continues like this, I feel that he will be the author of his own downfall.
